I'm thinking... yeah I know, be scared... about doing a stream. Idk. Soon.

Kinda in the vein of a stitch n'bitch, but I've got a sanding pile and I can never convince my ass to work on them in the evening, so some incentive. Who knows, might show yall the Ice Out dice. 🧊

As Greg has said here, the store's site has crashed from the traffic/flood of orders. But a GofundMe is still live to help with the store's renovation.

Most of us feel like we should somehow singlehandedly be able to fix the world and when we can’t, it’s crushing. That’s how you know you’re a decent person.

Here's a regular white guy (literally "Chad") not a protester. because, "It seemed pointless, or just a way for people to expiate their sense of guilt." Chad witnessed something shattering. And, that all changed in a moment.

Excellent article!

Public opinion research consistently shows nursing is one of the most highly trusted & respected professions in the US

TBC-no one deserves to be killed by ICE, but effective messaging meets people where they are. Americans trust nurses, use it

For those not versed in activism, I cannot impress upon you the impact of the fact that ICE has killed two legal observers.

I am trained as a legal observer and have been present as one at many actions. The role of an LO is to be a non-participant at the action, to observe, and to document. 🧵
I am trying not to post on these events in this state of mind but: I hope people understand what the observers are doing is brave and dangerous.

This whole thread is great journalism and so full of hope. Let's build utopia, together.
But when I asked an organizer what they wanted to see out of press coverage, they told me they wanted people to see the beautiful things they are building here, and not just the worst stories of the worst of ICE's crimes.

What people are doing here is beautiful. It's a tragic beauty, but a real one

It's the solidarity that matters. When your protest (in negative degree weather) rivals some of the shots from Chicago, you know you got folks out there. It lifts spirits.
I’m so proud of Minnesota. I understand why some people belittle protests as not enough, but I really think this shit matters.

I saw a clip on Fox News and they had to admit thousands of people showed up. It’s not going to stop Trump, but it’s a signal to your neighbors that they’re not alone.
From a friend in Minneapolis, just now:
