I mean, they ALL know this. So they just hope the Dems will blink? I have to think that at some point Schumer will just come out & say it: "Well, if this CR means that much to you - rescind the filibuster & pass it." AOC said she talked to a GOP rep & he doesn't believe any hospitals will close.

Excellent point. Not sure the Dems would be happy about that but I suppose at some point NOT having the filibuster would inject some reality into our political system. Gotta wonder if the GOP would actually be happy about being able to pass their not-really-popular-beyond-their-base proposals.

A bus of Bronx middle schoolers pulled up to the Capitol this morning for a long-planned field trip just a few hours after the government shut down.

All Capitol tours were cancelled as the guides can’t work in shutdown.

So I escorted them in myself and gave them a personal tour. They were great!
