Just saw an ad for Gemini where someone is dog sitting and then, asked how the dog is, generates an AI image of the dog.

I'd stop whatever I was doing and come home??? Send me a real picture of my dog if he's not dead???

This is what a healthy rental market would look like btw, with lots and lots of stock.

If you want to stick it to landlords, Build Housing™️
The last time I looked for rental housing in San Francisco was November 2020, the *one* time in the past 40 years when landlords had to compete for tenants.

I had landlords calling me up offering to install in-unit laundry and lower-than-advertised rent.

I want that for everyone!
Even rentals in San Francisco have bidding wars
Experts say a “douchey” practice widespread in New York is increasingly common here in the wake of the AI boom.

Immigration is such a good thing, and the scale to which we should be facilitating it is so great, dozens of our cities should be having weekly mass naturalization ceremonies. They should be open to the public, and we should be encouraged to go greet and celebrate new citizens.

Alex Karp, the CEO of Palantir, wrote a book about how big tech should take over the US security state to snuff out democracy. If only he had a bachelor's in philosophy followed by a JD and then a PhD in philosophy where his thesis supervisor was an eminent liberal philosopher!
there is not any particularly strong evidence that study of the humanities make people good people. the elites of many brutal empires were extremely well-read!

As it gets colder I've been thinking a lot about how much shit everyone in cities has to eat because those cities refuse to build sufficient homelessness infrastructure (mostly bc NIMBYs) and getting Mad about it.

I haven't heard anyone talking about it, so are we just giving up on the idea that Trump can't do this without Congress? Just kinda ceding that he's a dictator now?

Just before 9/11 we had popular songs that started with "baw wit da baw" and "ohhh wah ah ah ah". I can't think of a single one now.

Yep. Go do the damn thing imo
I am gonna be... magnanimous as a Purdue fan today.

To the Indiana fans out there, enojy today.

Truly, I mean it. You're getting a shot at something that seemed impossible as recently as two years ago. I save the vast majority of my rivalry fire for basketball, anyway.
