to be fair to ray he made some great keyboards and i think his work in text to speech was a huge advancement. he’s a genuinely smart guy in other areas.

if i recall correctly he really believed that he could revive his dad using HIS OWN MEMORIES. an adult human formed only from the memories of his child is such an utterly frightening concept with such obvious flaws. did he not believe his dad had an internal life?

i remember in the early 2000s hearing that ray kurzweil was a genius who had all these cool ideas about the singularity and when i read his stuff it was so clear that he was a scared, sad man who had never gotten over his fathers death and everything he believed could be traced back to that
