The NWSL offseason is upon us, and news of player movement will soon be pouring in. Today we take a look at some of the biggest decisions and possible departures ahead for Washington Spirit this offseason.
The biggest challenges facing Washington Spirit this offseason
For Washington Spirit, 2025 was a successful year, even if their hope of an NWSL Championship trophy eluded them. Michele Kang has already promised her team will be back "louder and prouder in 2026," but every offseason brings change. Today, we'll look at some of the biggest decisions and possible departures awaiting the Spirit this winter. Roster overview The Spirit ended the season with 28 players under contract, ten of whom required international slots and five of whom were on maternity leave or season-ending injury.

This is an excellent book. Highly recommend.
But Long story short, no good deed goes unpunished. IDEA was revolutionary and it created opportunities for #ActuallyAutistic students. But it also opened the door for a moral panic because some people can't do basic math. Anyway, I wrote a whole book on this. www.harpercollins.com/products/wer...

Do you have a relative who keeps talking about how "RFK Jr. has a point about vaccines and autism?" Good news. My book We're Not Broken is on sale and Harper Collins has free shipping in the continental U.S. until December 8. Buy it here.

Moving and true.

“It’s a sin…. It is the worst kind of failure and disgrace to steal, from people like myself, a world where we can find meaning and love and participation in a human community after we were given the chance to comfortably grasp it.”
In which Zack Budryk perfectly captures the feeling many #ActuallyAutistic people feel in this particular moment of RFK Jr.'s resurgence: We felt like we were turning the corner on autism acceptance. And now we are seeing that door closed off.

🎁 For this holiday season, consider gifting COLOR TASTE TEXTURE! It’s a great primer for people of all ages with little to no experience cooking. If you have some neurodivergent friends and family, or parents of littles, they might love this! It’s not just a cookbook, it’s a new approach to food. 🎁

Gabriel’s Rebellion, by Douglas Egerton (1993). A unicorn of a book that is both a page turner and a scholarly exploration of race, violence, and small-r republican principles in revolutionary America and early national era. Well crafted and a great read
Ok BlueSky: what are your favorite history books in terms of sheer page-turning, narrative propulsion? Thinking along the line of Killers of the Flower Moon, etc. Nonfiction chronicles that read like novels or movies.
