Had a lovely time at @plazaatlanta.bsky.social for their @vinsyn.bsky.social Spooktacular film fest. We tapped out after only three movies because we’re old and 2am is very late for us, but those sorts of events are what makes being an Atlanta cinephile fun!

I understand the big reason we won’t ever get a get new Darkstalkers is because fighting games are very niche and complex, and Capcom doesn’t want to be its own competition when Street Fighter 6 makes plenty of cash, but what’s keeping them from making, like, Morrigan a guest character in SF6?

Man I *hate* how James and Maria look in Return to Silent Hill. Why is she on-model but he looks like Standard Guy From “Game of Thrones?” It looks like the porn parody of the movie.

I hope some folks like it and I hope it pushes them to discover the game(s), but I think I’ll pass

I dunno, Dead Space 3 would benefit with a complete remake from the ground up. Nix the lame co-op, make it scary, don’t force a character nobody cares about onto the player.

If you like KPDM, keep doing what you do. I don’t think it’s for me though. Also I think the whole idol thing is just gross and exploitative and all parasocial relationshippy, and I’ve felt that way since I learned of JPop back in the late 90s.

I haven’t seen the movie and don’t really have any desire to, but my partner pulled up one of the songs from KPop Demon Hunters, since we figured maybe it’s the music.

It’s… standard pop music. Maybe it’s better in context, but it sounded like anything else you’d hear on the radio.

Also, this sort of thing is released to the public but it isn’t really *for* Joe Public. It’s for engineers and students so they can see *exactly* what went wrong so they don’t make the exact same (boneheaded, ego-driven) mistakes.

It’s a literal report of everything that went wrong from an engineering perspective. There is *a lot* of useful data in that sort of report.

I’m having this moment where I’m currently writing two separate things —a novel and a short story— and im doing the thing where I finish a chapter of the novel and then I do a revision or two on the short story. I don’t know if this is *good practice,* but it’s keeping me consistently writing.

We watched “A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master” last night. That series devolved into cartoonishness with a quickness.

7/10, give it a watch.
