I do not know how else to say this but...

If a Redcoat said this to a Son of Liberty in 1773 and it made the rounds in the pamplets, it would still be a story Americans told about the tyranny and violence of British subjugation to this day.

Someone not on site. Someone who’d done no investigation. Someone who only wanted a divisive political narrative to justify the cold blooded killing of an American citizen, but had no remorse for his death. Someone who doesn’t belong in a powerful position in our government.

The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call “symbolic compliance.”

That’s when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.

Warrants for arrests are already law!
Asking them to do what they are already required by law to do is signaling to every voter that these Dems do not care and are not interested in protecting any of us from these murdering thugs.
Dems coalescing around 5 restrictions on ICE, I'm told:

DHS required to cooperate with state probes (big)
CBP stays at border
warrants for arrests
IDs, bodycams
ICE out of churches, schools

"That package unites a lot of Dems," Sen Chris Murphy tells me on the pod:

For any elected official who needs to hear this, I impart a lesson learned from the NFL:

When the other team is tired and on the back foot, you don’t call a timeout so they can catch their breath. You grind their fucking face into the dirt until the final whistle blows and you’ve won the game.

ICE murdered Renée Good in broad daylight. Less than 3 weeks later, they killed Alex Pretti, shooting him 10 times. Every day, we watch as people are ripped from their cars, their homes, their lives.

We can't allow ourselves to look away from this cruelty. Abolish ICE.

On NPR on Friday, there was a story of a 4-year-old--an American citizen--who hasn't left her house since early December, not even to play in the yard. And her 8-year-old brother recently stopped going to school, too. Their father is undocumented, and the family doesn't want to risk him being taken.
