What happens when you risk everything and open up a coffee shop as two trans people?

This. ❤️

Thanks for making our first week incredible, Toronto. We love you.

This also extends to other fields. The abundance bros' attitude on housing, "give rich developers even more power so they can build luxury shit 95% of the population can't afford and someday you plebs might benefit," also clearly shows the same attitude towards the poor.
Seeing all the abundance-bro takes on how we need to just all be a bit less urgent about climate really hammers home for me that the 'Climate change will affect the poorest first and most significantly' has been turned by the worst people into 'Oh well, if some poor people die then too bad.'

Kansas has passed a bill that would revoke trans people's drivers licenses, forcing them to surrender them for replacements.

It also creates trans bounty hunters that can sue trans people for money.

It goes to the gov, who will veto, but R's can override.

There's a rot -- a eugenicist, transhumanist, techno-optimist, new-atheist rot -- in elite institutions that connects Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Silicon Valley, CBS, Palantir, and ICE.

It sweeps in Epstein, Bannon, Thiel, JD Vance, Stephen Miller, Joe Rogan, and all these other IDW / NeoRX creeps.

Right now, Democrats have the power to defund and abolish ICE. We should do it. This is about right and wrong—and the murder we are seeing on the streets is just plain wrong. Anyone who supports funding DHS and ICE is supporting the murder of Americans. We can stop this.

1. The most extreme anti-trans bill ever proposed is currently rocketing through the Kansas legislature.

It would empower bounty hunters to search for trans people in bathrooms, even in private businesses, and sue them for large sums of money.

The House is voting on it today.
Kansas Advancing Anti-Trans Bill Allowing Bounty Hunters To Patrol Private Business Bathrooms
The bill, which is racing through the Kansas legislature, stands a significant chance of passing the Senate.

Yeah not only are these terrible, they bear little resemblance to other asks that party caucuses are making. I just got a Hispanic Caucus list of "non-negotiables" that has like 20 other things on it.
The Senate Dems are squandering the moment in real time.
Chuck Schumer just announced demands on DHS to avoid shutdown:
1. End roving patrols, tighten rules on warrants
2. Enforce accountability & unified code of conduct for agents
3. No more masks & require bodycams

There are *already* standards on much of this.

The issue is DHS isn't following them!

This includes HHS and Ed, which had the worst provisions in congressional history.
