I legit fear for the overall game literacy of new junior designers in the coming years for various reasons and a big part of that is just, a lack of idiosyncratic games in many diets that aren't, like, tied to insidious monetization loops.

What I find baffling is that everyone is out of work yet I see the same roles being posted over and over again by the same companies. Like did you really reject 800 people then interview someone, decide you didn't like them either, and repost the job?

The amount of incredibly experienced and brilliant narrative designers and games writers out there who can't even get an interview at this point is very high.
The positions simply do not exist, and the ones that do close very fast because they get 1000+ apps in a matter of days.
