🚨 AURORA 🚨

She is still absolutely bouncing away up there! If you have clear skies get away from lights and look up.

Sadly, torrential downpours with me so not a chance!

Already sightings in York, Grimsby, Essex, Suffolk, Northumberland and Ayrshire!

🚨 AURORA UPDATE 🚨

If you can get to clear skies by 2200 ish, the Aurora looks like she’s going to erupt! All signs point to a high chance of powerful aurora sometime after 2200!

🚨 AURORA ACTIVE 🚨

Clear skies? Get out and look north! Aurora is very active and is starting to be seen across the UK where weather allows.

Good luck!

Such a gorgeously clear and still night out there tonight!

Even my phone could pick up the Orion Nebula - the big smudge you can see in the second photo!

A lot of what is said about Nature holding up development is simply not true. It’s wrong. False. At best misleading. If you’ve heard that newts are a cause of our national housing shortage, read this from @naturalengland.bsky.social

This article on top UNESCO sites on the UK is absolutely littered with errors.

Let’s be clear. Musk has interests in the UK.

The platform owned by Musk now peddles indecent images of children and women, and gains money from that.

The UK gov are right to move to block the app. Musk will cry ‘censorship’ to further fan the flames of division in the UK. Don’t be fooled.

That’s some map!

Hope everyone is staying safe this evening, from some dreadful weather. Having experienced 90mph+ winds with Darragh, I know it’s actually very scary to go through.

Batten down the hatches!

I know the dark mornings are hard, but lean into them. Humans are hardwired to respond to natural light and, importantly, natural darkness. It’s crucial for our core working systems like hormonal and nervous, to get exposure to both. So, enjoy the late sunsets whilst you still can!

Not that I need anymore excuses to go out at night, but here’s an article from the BBC Weather team on why 2026 may be a good year for those aurora hunters amongst us

Why 2026 could be another dazzling year for the Northern Lights

Do you hear ghostly hooves, cantering through the night?

Our Mari is stirring… she races to sunset on Alban Arthur, the Winter Solstice tomorrow ❤️

So lucky to see this little piece of Welsh heritage bought back to life and celebrated in the here and now, even if her beginnings are a mystery

I have two dogs. One is a Corgi. One is a German Shepherd X mountain breed.

These mats get rolled up with treats and tied in a knot as a brain game to work their minds.

Can you tell which dogs gets which mat? One is delicate and methodical. The other has a more… destructive, approach.

It’s been so lovely sharing some darkness and starry skies with people from the warmth of a seaweed barrel bath! I, sadly, don’t get to sit in a barrel, but for everyone else, it’s definitely the way to go stargazing 🤩

These sessions are at Halen Môn, on the banks of the Afon Menai
@danidarkskies.bsky.social was great at Halen Mon event today. Turns out i was following you already here Dani!
