Another advantage of bicycle commuting - the kids can get out and run home from school if they need to get some energy out.

I just opened maps to Woodland St bridge to consider the overbuilt lanes and lo and behold... perfection 😚

Consider breaking the tie by studying developmental science, international best practices, and transportation modeling
MNPS is gathering feedback on three proposed models for adjusting school start and dismissal times. During a week of community meetings, families and staff expressed diverse perspectives, with no one proposal emerging as a clear favorite.

“People ask me to predict the future, but all I want to do is prevent it. Better yet, build it. Predicting the future is too easy, anyway.

You look around — the street you stand on, the air you breathe — and predict more of the same. To hell with more. I want better.”

Appreciated CM Horton's comments asking if they could maybe please consider Vision Zero and our modal hierarchy, but y'all…why do we have to keep reminding Metro of their own policies? Why do all the designs they choose to show directly contradict these?

We bike. We do it downtown. We go to work, and we pickup our kids from daycare. Downtown. It's the place to be, because it's the central location. So we bike downtown.

I’d also rather us not spend six figures to save through traffic a few seconds and make greenway users less safe, but

Two young lives snuffed out because we refuse to make the necessary safety changes.

There are entire cities and countries where people getting killed by car drivers is rare to non-existent.

In Nashville we have two people dead before the sun came up on day 1 of 365.
Afriye Seegars, 23, was killed and a 24-year-old man critically injured while waiting for a rideshare outside Pecker’s Bar on Hermitage Ave. A speeding red/maroon car (possibly a Ford Mustang) struck them on the sidewalk around 1:30 a.m. Thursday and fled the scene.

This is extremely irresponsible design.
Absolutely insane that we ripped out a block of a mobility lane with zero indication to its users that it’s gone. What was I even supposed to do here?

All for like 2 parking spots, with no ~community engagement~. Hard to see Connect Downtown as anything beyond a dead letter at this point

Amazing that in the downtown worker survey by NDP there were no less than 3 questions related to houseless folks and safety but seemingly only one related to pedestrian infrastructure, and that was lights.

Living here is just exhausting.
Dude legit moved the sign so my daughter and I could get through after I kindly explained why it's important to keep the bike lane open, then moved it right back while laughing and waving at us 👎

Most important bench yet made it’s debut at this morning’s Annual Homeless Memorial. As of the other day, 169 individuals in Nashville have died after a prolonged period of homelessness or while experiencing homelessness this year. More names will likely be added before the year ends 💔
