Zohran Mamdani won a historic victory yesterday in New York City's mayoral election, and 17 of our 18 endorsees won their races up and down the ballot, proving once again that safer streets and better public transit aren't just good policy – they're good politics! www.streetspac.org/2025_general...
We're not saying the Council shouldn't use the powers it's granted by the charter, but weird timing given how many members of the current administration – including the mayor – have found themselves on the wrong side of the law.

At NYCDOT back in the day, we found an allocation of roughly $14M in unspent federal $$$. Previous management had ignored it.

The money had been secured by Rep Velazquez, working with the Brooklyn Greenway Initiative. In consultation w the Congresswoman, we put the funds into a corridor plan

NYC needs to get its act together and get going on its own secure bike-parking network.
What a humbling e-mail to receive this morning from a rider in Jersey City. Secure parking for 🚲 🛴 has the power to transform the entire region by making transit more accessible and more convenient. My only hope is that we can rapidly speed up deployments w/cities and agencies across region.

The private waste carting industry was once too big, too complex, and impossible to rein in. But once the City Council passed the Commercial Waste Zones Law, enforcement and accountability became possible.
