My earliest memory of Trek is when I was 5 years old. For some reason I had this weird idea that Trek was ripping off Star Wars - because it took place in space. I don't know why I thought Star Wars "owned" space stories.

I was aware of Trek in early childhood, but didn’t watch. Too “grown up.” But Wrath of Khan was on a loop on HBO in ‘83, & it made me a fan of the movies series, then TNG premiered when I was 13; from then on, hardcore fan 4 life.

The idea of "Christmas films" in the streaming era is nonsense. Back when we had to pick what to watch from the same handful of broadcast channels, a lot of us would watch the same films at Christmas and make that mental connection. It never mattered whether the film was overtly Christmas themed.
