I think, for me, at the end of the day DJing at its purest is about being so totally enamored with music and sharing it with others that you, in a sense, have no choice. Being so in thrall to sound that there’s no timeline where you wouldn’t be seeking out community w/ those who feel it the same way

I start ketamine therapy soon, and it’s definitely one thing I really want to explore there

Like this hobby/path/journey (whatever you call it) of djing leads to people treating others SO terribly, do I really want to be part of this? And so far the answer overwhelmingly has been “absolutely not” but I keep doing it, so I know the true answer is “yes” but I still don’t understand why.

In the wake of one of my best friendships that ended w intense vitriol, I find myself struggling to understand “why do I DJ?” Not bc they actually got to me when they accused me of only doing it to be popular (bc LOL what a trajectory if that’s my goal), but bc it wldn’t have happened w/o being a DJ
