Brian Strahan supporters are making the case on the I Love NE FB group (the bad one) to vote for Brian because he’s liked by republicans. When the person initially making this point tried to then distance it from saying Trump supporters like him, the Trump supporting moderator confirmed it.
Jill Davis: “Conor Hesch Sounds like you like Brian. But the fact remains, he has not lived in Ward 1 until the last month. He has not been upfront about his residency. Quite honestly, I don't find it a bonus point to have Republicans supporting your candidate.”

Anonymous member 619: “Conor Hesch Wow the Trump voters like him? He's perfect for our city council then?”

Conor Hesch: “Anonymous member 619 | doubt Trump-fans like Brian but I know some moderate republicans who do.”

Katrina Johnson Moderator: “Conor Hesch This Trump fan likes him.”

David Simon, creator of ‘The Wire’, being interviewed by Ari Shapiro (NPR)
SHAPIRO: OK, so you've spent your career creating television without Al, and I could imagine today you thinking, boy, I wish I had had that tool to solve those thorny problems...
SIMON: What?
SHAPIRO: ...Or saying...
SIMON: You imagine that?
SHAPIRO: ...Boy, if that had existed, it would have screwed me over.
SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.
SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an Al and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this.
SIMON: I'd rather put a gun in my mouth.

I feel like a broken record, but I have to keep saying it over and over again: a farmer bailout won’t do much of anything because the market is gone. There will be no incentive to plant next year.

The bailout will help payoff farmer debt to the banks. That’s all.

my all of mpls write up is more diligently researched than the star tribune. i still have to update it for the latest campaign finance report but i listed every donor’s ward and excluded business address donations because that’s a tactic to hide their real address. strib didn’t differentiate there
taylordahlin.com
when i broke down all the donors to all of mpls, i included their wards and noted which ones were donating under the company address, because i searched every single address to find this information out, and i then excluded the company ones from my g graph. this. is. not. hard!

"Our neighborhood has become a ghost town, they said amid the lively bustle of the festival" rates among classics like:

"nobody comes here anymore, there's no place to park"

and

"why weren't we notified this was happening, the crowd moaned at the packed public meeting."

Becka Thompson endorsed by immigration hard-liner Martha Holton-Dimick, who lost Ward 12 in a landslide when she ran for county attorney three years ago.
2022 forum moderator: "This might be a simple question that everyone agrees on... Is there anyone up here who would not take immigration consequences into account when making prosecutorial decisions?"

It turned out that it would not be a simple question that everyone agreed on.

Martha Holton Dimick: "I don't think there should be any special consideration... The immigration issues that I've run across, not only as a judge, but as a prosecutor, they're violent crimes that they're committing... They're rapes, they're ag robberies, they're assaults."

Pioneer Press is looking for a cargo bike family in St. Paul that’s interested in letting them take some pics/ videos of the fam doing cargo bike stuff. The writer reaching out recently had an Urban Arrow demo, but I don’t think he’s picky about what bike the fam is using. Let me know if interested.

I've ranked Frey in prior elections bc I was dubious about rounding out my ballot with a crank. Won't surprise anyone that I haven't included him this year. I've seen too much. Even if you can't "not rank Frey" I hope you examine your options and drop him as low as you feel comfortable.
