Then put Trump on the penny because you know it'd piss him off, and then eliminate the penny before it sees production.
After we get Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill I vote to put John Brown on the $10

Schumer can be removed from his Dem leadership role this week - 23 Dems (and/or independents) just have to vote to depose him
And they should, given this is his fault.
And they should, given this is his fault.
This is a lovely sentiment but Schumer isn't up for re-election until 2028 and he knows this. At which point he will be 77/78. There's no mechanism to recall a sitting senator AFAIK.
Let’s be clear: Chuck Schumer is the one ending this shutdown, no matter how the votes read.
Chuck Schumer is claiming that he’s voting no, while letting other Senators (Fetterman, Kaine, King, etc) do HIS dirty work.
He must be removed from his leadership & primaried for the sake of this country

I didn't get to finish this week's @shutdownfullcast.bsky.social til last night, but I'm STILL thinking about @surber.bsky.social's BYU tortilla soaking joke. Perfection.

If you thought the 1770s were wild, buckle up for the next few decades, brother. Especially in Baltimore. Dr. E will explain it better on her tours. @fullstorybaltimore.tours
The other thing is that someone made a joke about the 1770's version of The Onion, and it made me think of this post I saw the other day about Thomas Jefferson being the 1770's "Worst Person You Know Who Made a Great Point" bsky.app/profile/did:...

@dramaqueenkjf.bsky.social and I went on an excellent history tour with @fullstorybaltimore.tours and I will say two things about it. First, it struck me how in Baltimore, so much from the Revolutionary era was lost to fire. Contrast this w/ growing up in PA where so much is preserved & commemorated

The robber barons of America are going to do everything they can to destroy Mamdani.
They will follow the SF playbook: they will run wedge campaigns, pay PR firms, manipulate social media, encourage cop work slowdowns then crow about crime, and run impeachment campaigns.

When the Democratic tent includes candidates like Spanberger and Mamdani, there is no crisis, or fight, for the party. IT’S A COALITION, NOT A POINT ESTIMATE.

i want to repeat this: mamdani and spanberger have run similar campaigns tailored to their respective electorates and it is maddening to watch political journalists attempt to create some broad contrast where none exist
the other thing about this is that there is no reason to pit these candidates against each other? each are good fits for their respective electorates and each shows the value of vigorous campaigns focused on the stated material problems of voters.

David J with the bars.
I knew that Mamdani had it; he had the people and did the work, and has been the clearest and most lucid in rejecting the untenable current state of things. But the vile, bigoted shit against him was so constant, and I am conditioned to that working better than I want. This feels like an exorcism.

The sad thing is only leftists feel this way.
AOC: We have a future to fight for, and we're either going to do that together or you're going to be left behind. It's not about Progressive. It's not moderate, it's not liberal. This is about do you understand the assignment of fighting fascism right now? And the assignment is you come together…

Yeah. So get Republicans to concede.
With hours until the government shutdown becomes the longest in U.S. history, Senate Dems agonized behind closed doors about bringing it to an end.
About a dozen Dem senators now privately believe it's time to reopen the government, sources told us.
