On a related note, I'll never forget the angry, rambling email I got from Jordan Peterson after I wrote an op-ed noting that he has fans on the alt-right. This was, of course, before he left UofT, and he was transitioning to a hero of the far-right but was maybe still in denial about it.

Thing I notice about these people is they expect things to just be handed to them - respect, friendship, God's blessings in general. But you have to earn respect and cultivate friendships. It's your job to be the blessing.

If your neighbors are strangers, well it's on you to do something about it.

One thing I found deeply moving about resistance in the Twin Cities was the universalism of loving your neighbor, the philosophy driving the opposition to the ICE/BP invasion. I couldn't help but notice the contrast with the blood and soil-ism of Miller and Vance. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

This needs lots of attention: the US government is now using new sonic and other directed-energy weapons not only in foreign operations (Venezuela) but domestically. This is the future of police response.
Oh.

Found the LRAD.

In Minneapolis.

Being used on Americans.

By their own militarized state police forces.

That we all pay for.

Anyone who knows Matt, or has followed his career, will not be surprised by this. It is, nevertheless, a good reminder that the tides have turned and the grift is moving (far) right these days, also within academia.
