i am very exhausted by disinformation about the cost of transition healthcare. it costs less than $100 for 1-2 years of hormones, depending on your exact sourcing. presenting HRT as impossibly expensive and inaccessible to people who need HRT but don't know how is equivalent to medical gatekeeping.

Same! I submitted poems to a few places last night, after going a long time without having sent anything out.
Today's gift to myself was submitting three poems. I haven't really been submitting this year. I didn't submit much last year. I keep getting good rejections for an essay--and y'all, essays are hard for me!--and I don't know my next move.
Those four days off were lovely. Two more weeks of classes!

When I ask them: "What are you reading? What are you watching? What are you listening to?" Often, the answer is: nothing. Which has a direct effect on their over-use of prompts and AI, because they can't think of ideas, because they are literally not engaging with a single figurative thing.

I’m poor & I always self-identify that way in an attempt to destigmatize & also reveal that people in ‘good’ jobs who are well-educated are often .. POOR. It’s extremely difficult to attain class mobility even when you do everything ’right’ - embarrassment is a tool of oppression.
