The only song I remember getting pushback for depicting sex was WAP and that seemed like conservative outrage cycle. Post GOT, every 4 months the internet rehashes too much sex in TV and movies, especially the Gen Z crowd. I could just be missing large chunks of this conversation happening in music

That I do remember. But then the album dropped and I didnt hear really any push back, atleast nowhere near the scale the album cover was at. So to me it feels like there's almost always resistance to visual media depicting sex, which Id say the album cover is, vs it happening musically.

Interesting the "there's too much unnecessary sex in movies and TV" never carries over to music. Never see anyone complaining about Taylor Sabrina and Chappell singing about fucking too often
