Why Wikipedia editors have deleted entries from the “List of unusual deaths”:

“hippos are extremely dangerous and very aggressive and there is nothing unusual about hippos killing people”
“the man was working on the toilet, making his death inherently less strange than if he had been using it”
“no longer an unusual or unique occurrence” regarding impalement by beach umbrella
“being hit by multiple motorcycles in a race is not an unusual death”
“fatalities involving objects or animals being launched into oncoming traffic are considered commonplace” regarding a Canadian couple’s fatal collision with a “flying bear”

It’s POTS awareness day—a blood flow problem common after Covid.

POTS can be subtle—I often wonder how many people who feel rundown, anxious or distracted have this treatable condition.

Main criteria is heart rate going up >30bpm when going from laying down to standing—smthg you can check at home!

What Does POTS Stand For?

POSTURAL: Related to the position of your body
ORTHOSTATIC: Related to standing upright
TACHYCARDIA: Increased heart rate
SYNDROME: A group of symptoms

it is not hard to put on a mask in indoor places where you’re not eating. it does not ruin the experience to cover your face for 20 min at trader joe’s. establishing this as a social norm would prevent so much illness. five years in i do not understand why this breaks so many people’s brains
