Many ICE officers appear to be white supremacists who were unable to obtain jobs in other branches of law-enforcement. Some liberal critics say that’s a bad thing.

It’s genuinely wild that the United States spent decades building an elaborate rules-based international order which de facto cemented its permanent status as the dominant global hegemon, sustained by ideology rather than might, and now is just blowing it all up for literally no reason

Leni Riefenstahl was a genius…wildly misguided and corrupted but still. Bari Weiss is so far from genius it would take centuries at warp 9.9 for her to get close.
Can we call her Leni Riefenfail yet or is that too complimentary a comparison point?

If we learned that the Obama or Biden DOJ was casually monitoring the comings and goings of a reporter for any reason, much less b/c she was the lead reporter on all things Epstein, it would be a Watergate-level scandal but of course since it's Trump, one day (at best) and we move right along 🙃

Somehow “Mamdani” became “Mandan” since autocorrect wants to create a new superhero. Mandan to the rescue! 😆
What is all this prattle about the @nypost.com and Mandan? Of course no one reads the print version and almost none of their web traffic is from NYC. Amplifying it here is just what Murdoch wants. To nationalize it as another Fox for a radicalized hard right audience. It has no impact here.

Too bad you don’t have any editors to fact check this slop. But A+ on ginning engagement with all the people coming out showing how they never said what these malignant authors write. Shame on Princeton U Press and to the lazy book reviewers sucked in by lies easily disproved with a google search.
Congratulations to Stephen Macedo & Frances Lee, whose book In Covid's Wake has been recognized as:

Worth repeating this with every new Epstein document drop. The party of Denny Hastert is the party of Jim Jordan is the party of Matt Gaetz is the party of Donald Trump. Looking the other way and protecting child predators from the law is their brand.

Hahahaha! It does encapsulate about the only thing Lil’ Nate has ever been interested in.
This might be the thing that gets Nate Silver to turn on Trump
get everyone gambling on their phone and then charge them for losing is actually pretty funny

I dunno…saying white people can stop apologizing for being white and America is a Christian nation seems like choosing a side
This is NYT headline morning after JD’s grotesque hot blast of white supremacist nativism at Turning Point’s hate-fest?!
December 22, 2025 at 1:50 PM
Shocked! 🤣
The network bought by a Trump-loving failson canned Stephen Colbert and then deep sixed an unflattering piece on the Trump administration after hiring a person with no experience to run its news division. No one could see it coming

Huh…. It’s ALWAYS projection with these creatures.
What if Mar-a-Lago was the real Comet Pizza basement all along?
They booked a bunch of 14 year old models to come to a Mar A Lago party, told them to dress sexy and tried to ply them with alcohol.

Folks… @mattyglesias.bsky.social lives for one thing. Engagement. He is as shallow, self-centered, and insecure as his analogues on the social media right. JUST. IGNORE. HIM.
He wasn't attacking you. He was explaining why you were wrong.

But yes, I'm going to defer to the politician who has repeatedly won re-election because, at the very least, he understands IL-6 is not a "safe seat" and knows running up the margin is not the actual goal in congressional campaigns.
There’s nothing wrong with @casten.house.gov being an electoral underperformer in a safe seat, but in his thread attacking me he is asking Democrats to defer to his political judgment. I think it’s a smarter bet to defer to folks who overperform in tough races.

What is the point of having a sprawling national security state if they can’t find out who did a mass shooting in broad daylight five days ago?

I actually think it’s simpler than that. Nate Silver is thoroughly threatened by anyone more intelligent than he is. He’s been a public opinion con artist since the earliest days of the sham 538 and political elites (ESPECIALLY LIBERALS) refused to call him out on it.
i am fascinated by how nate silver turns everything he doesn’t like into a bespoke ideology. it’s not that he is annoyed by HCR, it is that she is a dreaded “ism” responsible for everything he doesn’t like about the democratic party. same with bluesky.
what the fuck are you talking about man

This is just innumeracy by the AP reporter. Dropping from 42% to 36% is 6 percentage points off of 42% base. That’s a 15% drop which is neither good news nor “slight.” Math can be hard for political reporters but this is pathetic.

Yes Trump did PARDON all the people who did exactly that.
Pardon?

Unfortunately, in US journalism it is considered neutral to spread a lie, but it is considered "biased" to call out a lie. So, there is a structural asymmetry that rewards colorful lies with virality.

Because the @nytimes.com no longer has editors in the former sense of the word. The news/politics “editors” there couldn’t pass freshman Journalism 101.
How did the @nytimes.com editors let this sentence appear?

"Critics have likened Mr. Trump’s approach to extortion, while others have chalked it up as a cost of doing business with this administration."

And let’s not forget his hideous father, the LA Eyewitness News reporter who was so over-the-top anti-trans he’s featured in The Lady and the Dale. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. They’re both “oddly” obsessed with gay and trans lives….
Reminder that in high school, Tucker Carlson listed himself as a member of the "Dan White Society," named after the man who shot and killed Harvey Milk, the first openly gay elected official.
