“Harris’ campaign is essentially taking everything that happened since 2015, the whole long parade of horribles, blaming it all on Trump — mostly true — and saying let’s turn the page and put all that behind us. That has Trump’s campaign steaming mad. But they laid the groundwork for it.”

NYT calls them “undecided voters” in the headline and lead and then you read on and it’s all quotes from “Henry Dixon, a 61-year-old gun cartoonist who voted Republican in every election since he graduated from Gun University” and “Julia Gunson, a mother of four guns”

In my book, I noted research that took advantage of the pandemic to see if putting hearings on Zoom led to more participation from other groups.

It did not.

once again thinking about how the nytimes panel of political experts rated Kamala Harris as less likely to win and less exciting than Josh Shapiro
people are really out here saying Bluesky users are living in a fantasy bubble because we are criticizing the NYT coverage of the election, meanwhile, this is what the Times is publishing today even after Harris has 100% locked up the nomination

I had the honor of interviewing the Exonerated Five around the release of WHEN THEY SEE US for the NYT. The fifth man who’s not up there tonight, Antron McCray, told me he was still struggling immensely with the loss of his childhood.

I really hope he’s taking care of himself tonight.

I will always recommend THE PRICE OF ADMISSION by Daniel Golden. It isn't just the legacy admits--elite sports, children of faculty, all of the activities that big money can buy provide this advantage.
last year the NYT had a story about class and college admissions. I posted this graphic about the thing we talk about and the thing we don't even have a name for.

Last night Michelle Obama offered a name! "The affirmative action of generational wealth"
