A crabby lady trying her best. Christian, transgender, queer, crippled, and a bunch of other modifiers. Y'know, the whole "cacophony struggling into the synthesis of I AM" and all that.

I HAVE A BODY. IT SUFFERS.

YOU CANNOT MAKE IT SUFFER LESS WITH SOPHISMS AND LABELS.

GIVE ME HUMAN RIGHTS.

MY MEDICINE HEALS MY MALADY.

THIS IS MEANINGFUL.

I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE LIKE ME.

IF YOU DON’T FEEL LIKE YOU ARE LIKE ME—I DID NOT MAKE YOU FEEL YOUR FEELINGS.

THAT’S MY SKIN. GET YOUR OWN.
that’s how everything becomes “gender affirming” gray goo validity politics instead of “give us our fucking human rights”. because everyone wants to forget that they have a fucking body. they turn off the lights in their living room by closing their eyes. “don’t have politics it make my stummy hurt”

i do remember grandma used to say she'd see a ghost guy about the farm sometimes, but he was just doing his own thing. i don't think i ever saw him.
brother was the same way. we agreed that it sure didn't seem worth fucking around and finding out.

that's the closest i can think of. probably just like. infrasound or senses saying animals near or something. or even just anxious attack.

but better safe than sorry, without a good reason anyway
Sometimes the feeling intruded. That unless I wanted to learn some things about reality and the fragility thereof. That it was time to go.

This might be a human place in the day. Or other times of night. But now it is not and it is time to GO.

Didn't ever see a good reason not to go. So i'd go.
I've been blessed to not really have such encounters, or at least not things that I'd recognise as such.

But.

There are feelings sometimes. Probably from the self, more or less. In my nightwalk days. Empty places. Mostly benign.

But.

On the old farm we grew up on. And in wilderness.
you don’t have to wait til Halloween to tell you ghost stories I WANT TO HEAR THEM NOW
i don't really know that. just. i read a lot of his stuff and i have this idea of him. reminds me of some folks i've known who've done that.
i stand by my stubborn and unresearched theory that Orson is one of those cases where he tried to fly and bounced back hard the other way.
not necessarily a closet case (not necessarily not), but just. fled way back into poisoned bullshit.

If judges can refuse to officiate gay weddings, gay defendants should be able to refuse to be heard by those judges. If they can’t be compelled to perform the most heteronormative of functions, why would anyone believe they are capable of putting their biases aside for something with higher stakes?

the biggest problem with vr is just going for a hike in any park is nicer than vr will ever be, and lets not even talk about having pizza at a local pizza place

Like...I meant it when I said I wished "This Anime Does Not Exist" actually existed but...

I never thought it *would actually exist*

This deeply talented woman deserves all the support.

For gamers who aren't in game dev, you should know that we are in one of the worst periods in game dev history in terms of industry stability and the reason you're not seeing that play out through products is because the average development window of games is 3-7 years so it hasn't reached you yet.
just shy of a mile, roundtrip
not bad
been a while since i've done it, but just got done walking the blocks down to the neighborhood gas station and back.

can definitely tell i've fallen off some. makes sense, there's been so much else to do that i ended my rehab. and covid beat my ass.

still, not fallen off nearly as much as i feared
