Suspicious of both standpoint epistemology and credentialism. Leaves me little to say here, doesn’t it?

Have you tried Fisk? Looks like it's on ITV as well, if you don't mind the ads.

Smashed windows and graffiti at the Brighton Conference Centre, where women have come from all over the world to talk about male violence and women's human rights. This is trans activism, and it's misogyny in action.

Wow what a refreshingly principled stance on consumer protection and oh wait nvm www.ft.com/content/f342...

Or maybe you take the existing HMLR data of net land value and deduct the estimated cost to rebuild?

In my case the same surveyor on the same day quoted £50k more to rebuild than the purchase price. So did I buy a house on land worth -£50k? Should I get a rebate under such a Georgist tax?
derailedthought.bsky.social
Georgism is a bit of a nightmare to shoehorn into existing systems. How do you assess unimproved land value? Land value is affected by the things around it, not just on it. It's affected by legal rights and burdens.

You could abolish freeholds and levy ground rent everywhere. A big change.

I'd say this specific complaint about SDLT isn't actually about capital. It's the non fungible bricks and mortar.

Recent figures had about 30% of British homes over occupied and a similar amount under occupied.

We've never had more bedrooms per person but still have a crisis.
derailedthought.bsky.social
There are many options regarding how valuation is handled but it could work off the same data that gives Zoopla quotes. This comes from the HMLR.
derailedthought.bsky.social
All costs charged based on a move, discourage moving. Bit of a problem when so many large houses are under occupied by empty nesters.

The ~£18b can be replaced by annual charge of 0.2% value on the ~£9t of residential property. Add a further 0.3% to replace council tax.
derailedthought.bsky.social
Solution to what? Yes, it's easier and cheaper. It's also counterproductive to the allocation issue.

Oh don't worry, it's just the hazard of short form written communication. No offense was taken!

Is the dyslexia of plot significance? I find in my life it mostly involves buying the wrong products in the supermarket, any time a company changes its branding. That's very annoying for me but I can't imagine it's too interesting to see!

Yeah, sorry for lack of clarity. I was picturing address the councillor, not you.

Incidentally, I am actually a member. They haven't kicked me out yet for heretical belief that reification of gender is a bad thing. But I sense the inquisition coming!

A bit of a "not even wrong case". Sure, they were victims of misogyny. They're also long dead and your party's main focus is supposed to be addressing the climate change apocalypse. Those tidying deckchairs on the Titanic might have rolled their eyes at this.

*It's not actually a debate, we just shout past one another with varying degrees of aggression, exasperation and sarcasm.

This video really is about grammar, not gender of humans. And yet it's not a bad analogy for the undying debate* of how many sexes there are.

We can think of gametes as "target gender" and seperate that concept from classification of an individual (person/noun).

The account Elylilly was banned in July this year, on spurious grounds. An appeal was made in July and twice in August. Bluesky have not responded at all.

Even without reaching the shores of Gaza, the flotilla succeeded in providing real aid. Food.

This is not a mere token, to the people who ate that day. Further proof too that the famine is man made. Israeli made.

It's a brave and noble Israeli who chooses peace and conscience, under this regime.
