vouch. the only reason i'm not doing DIY HRT myself is because i'm fortunate enough to be able to go to an informed consent clinic. i had a wait time of about a week before my first appointment where they give me all the info, then i got prescribed hrt a week later on my second appointment. ezpz

The attack at a Hanukkah celebration in Sydney today was a vile act of antisemitic terror. I mourn those who were murdered and will be keeping their families, the Jewish community, and the Chabad movement in my prayers. May the memories of all those killed be a blessing. While we are still waiting for all the facts to emerge, what we already know is devastating. At least 11 dead, including Rabbi Eli Schlanger, who held deep ties to Crown Heights. At least 29 injured. Another Jewish community plunged into mourning and loss, a holiday of light so painfully reduced to a day of darkness. This attack is merely the latest, most horrifying iteration in a growing pattern of violence targeted at Jewish people across the world. Too many no longer feel safe to be themselves, to express their faith publicly, to worship in their synagogues without armed security stationed outside. What happened at Bondi is what many Jewish people fear will happen in their communities too. On Bondi Beach today, as men with long guns targeted innocents, another man ran towards the gunfire and disarmed a shooter. Tonight, as Jewish New Yorkers light menorahs and usher in a first night of Hanukkah clouded by grief, let us look to his example and confront hatred with the urgency and action it demands. When I am Mayor, I will work every day to keep Jewish New Yorkers safe—on our streets, our subways, at shul, in every moment of every day. Let this be a purpose shared by every New Yorker, and let us banish this horrific violence to the past.

While the intentions behind the Children (Withdrawal from Religious Education and Amendment of UNCRC Compatibility Duty) (Scotland) Bill are good, it risks stripping parents from their rights while also opening the back door to dangerous ideologies. Children are not old enough to do many things, but the Scottish Government think they are old enough to override their parents when it comes to religious education and observance. At the same time who is to say that some will not try to hijack this bill to bring in harmful ideologies such as gender ideology? Controversial groups such as LGBT Youth Scotland are already operating in primary schools, including in my area of East Dunbartonshire, and this legislation risks creating a scenario whereby schools can ignore the wishes of parents who wish to withdraw pupils from such teachings. That is why I voted ‘No’ on the general principles of this bill.

But what all of this unwillingness to intervene means is that a critical industry will collapse and a lot of ordinary people will be unemployed.

When your local council shuts all your libraries next year and the parks fall into disrepair, it will be because they have a legal duty to house homeless people in a city with a gigantic housing crisis, where all the worst accommodation is being rented back to councils by slum landlords.

Zooming out from the proximal causes of the housing crisis and council budgets, the UK's land ownership is monumentally unequal. 1% of the population owns 50% of the land, and we don't even know who owns 20% of Britain because the land hasn't been bought and sold for more than 100 years.
