I really enjoyed taking part in this project and was touched to see people looking at my photos and reading about my and others' experiences of autism. All of the facilitators were brilliant and I loved hearing the perspectives of my fellow participants. Can't wait to see the programme!
Our Autism through an Autistic Lens Exhibition opened yesterday and @SarahM_Dantas and I had the pleasure of being interviewed by @maigheach.bsky.social for an autistic arts documentary by Mac tv for BBC Alba.

Art, autism, activism, advocacy: Runs at the @Tolbooth, Stirling until 31/12.

Kathleen Stock has written an article against "abortion permissiveness". She claims abortion requires "justification" saying the state should limit "unacceptable decision-making" by women about their own bodies.

This is who anti-trans activists proclaim as the feminist thought leaders of our time.

The difference between a Serious Person and a Ridiculous Conspiratorial Crank in the UK tends to be more of a function of how many sympathetic press contacts you have
These are people not just nasty but so *thick* they once accused a Northern Irish cat of sectarianism as he was correctly described as having orange fur! That alone should have rendered them a joke that no one gave any time to, but no, they got the Serious People treatment rather than Crank Contempt
the difference between how FWS are portrayed and the absolutely wild stuff they come out with online, on their official account, would be quite a good story if the UK media weren't institutionally transphobic

It is a remarkable thing to see.

'Just' a huge piece of wood and yet my husband and I find ourselves standing beside it, talking about the people who hewed it, travelled the Tay in it, carried goods in it.

I've been to the excellent Perth Museum several times now, and always go back to look at it.
The Carpow logboat on display in Perth Museum 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 It was found in the Tay Estuary near Perth and dates to around 1000 BC, in the Late Bronze Age.

But yeah. You want to seize family heirlooms from vulnerable people? To ‘pay their costs’? Where have I heard that before? Darker forces indeed.

i wish i could convince myself to hope that maybe, just maybe, THIS time people will finally admit that sexual violence is *political violence*, is a political and social structure, is a technology of oppression, not a private, basically forgivable transgression. but i really can't fool myself
The idea that sexual abuse is part of “private” life instead of a public crisis has done incalculable damage. Anti-rape activists have to fight to even make it possible to expose sexual abuse as a wrongdoing in public without being silenced and undermined. That fight is far from won

Epistemic violence against sexual abuse accusers—smearing them as deluded, crazy, or incompetent—is something rapists know works, and they conspire to do it.

Really wild how all these Harvard scientists and mathematics guys constantly talked about how Jeffrey Epstein was this brilliant, "misunderstood" man and then you read his emails and he's clearly a barely literate lecher, extremely easy to understand

One function of the colonial mindset in our culture is in how events in the six counties are never truly discussed or felt as if they're "here", despite very much happening within the UK. British soldier just acquitted of murdering own citizens in a UK court and not much of a peep about it on here.

Bad day for the rule of law. The state can murder you in front of witness, cameras, frustrate justice for years, oversee destroying evidence and then put it 53 year later before a jury less trial to give themselves the green light about it all. And I have to pay my taxes to fund it

One of the people killed by Soldier F was a man who stepped out to help another of his victims as he lay dying in the street. He waved a white handkerchief as he did so. Soldier F shot him in the head. His name was Barney McGuigan and today his family had to listen to a judge acquit his killer.
