Watch the trees grow.
There are so many things we are in too much of a hurry to see. I've seen sunsets burst into the colors of a kiss. I've learned the song of a new spring leaf first turning in the wind. I've unraveled languages, learned to avoid conflict.
But I still feel...as if I'm waiting.

Being turned is not so bad, once you adjust. The first century is excruciating; mind still racing with fleeting mortal urgency. But when you learn to relax into the long slow breath of the cosmos, the anxiety settles. What do you choose to do with this gift of time?

I self published two novellas through participation in NaNoWriMo in 2008 and 2009 and hardly a day goes by when I don't look at the listing for those books on Amazon and think, "it's time to make them go away."
