We know the things the party and its leadership and the politicians etc do have the ability to influence peoples opinions. If abolish ice is at 40% democrat voter approval them elevating that message in an effective way would result in that going up. They have previously pushed the opposite opinion.

Dems often validate what republicans find as important and position them as the only important things to fund. This is how they contribute to the ideological production of a radical right wing electorate. It’s part of how we got Trump. Continuing to cede this ground is stupid.

The reason folks are focusing on DHS's refusal to honor Real IDs is that it means that the Trump regime is asserting the right to detain anyone in America, resident or visitor, without probable cause. It's an erasure of habeas corpus for all Americans.

If I were more of a theory person I would break down my long standing position that Trans people should consider ourselves members of the Disabled movement.
I don't want to pretend that having ADHD makes navigating the society we live in as difficult as being trans, but it's a shared fight. And there are so many parallels around what having the language to understand yourself can do. I don't want to go back to a world where people are stuck living
