i take frenzy damage every time i see someone go "well i just use it for the boring stuff". what are you TALKING about? if it's boring or unimportant, why are you putting it in? NPC dialogue is fertile ground for worldbuilding, creating verisimilitude, conveying important information, and hijinks!!

Just saw someone claim that authors who want to be paid for their work are "class traitors" because we "only let the wealthy" read our books, and I think I need to go into the woods to scream into the night for a bit.

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

I sorta get the kneejerk reaction a bunch of non-mecha fans have to any kind of mil-fi mecha
A lot of military mecha (and sci-fi) can be very misanthropic in its worldview, and/or have right-wing/nationalist undercurrents

Transfers out of art school to a more "useful" degree (UI/UX) bc art school wasn't really helping me
Works on art skills in spare time and pays for college + living expenses with art
Graduate into a time where UI/UX entry-level jobs are very scarce
Go full time art
