That a machine can't replace a lawyer for most of a lawyer's functions is obvious to people who know the industry.

But also? If AI ever really becomes a danger to the profession, we'll just disallow its use and start hitting the people making these products with misdemeanors.

Shit like this has me concerned we've crossed the same event horizon colleges did, in that we now have lawyers, whole firms, that cannot use their brains without LLMs.

Disbarment is the remedy for multiple violations like this. Its dangerous to leave this dude with his bar card.

Its going to be years before I can talk about specifics but I've seen up close what this mindset can do in a legal context and it is potentially life ruining, it legitimately saddens me.
