More of this.
NBA players come out strong on the situation in Minneapolis:

“Now more than ever, we must defend the right to freedom of speech and stand in solidarity with the people in Minnesota protesting and risking their lives to demand justice.”
Statement from the National Basketball Players Association:

Ah yes, of all the concerns I have as a husband, father, business owner, neighbor, and American, that ballroom is at the top of the list. Thank you Mr. President.
Trump: “I’m building, on top of everything else that I am doing, one of the greatest and most beautiful Ballrooms anywhere in the World, with more than 300 Million Dollars of Great American Patriots’ money, & working closely with, right from the beginning, the US Military and Secret Service”

So important. What they say is not the story. That is never the story. What happened is the story. Write what happened.

Basketball writers like @howardbeck.bsky.social and @michaelvpina.bsky.social showing more courage right now than a lot of mainstream so-called journalists. Thank you guys for speaking up..it matters.
Very proud to call Joanna a colleague (though we've never met), for both her talent and her bravery, and I agree with everything she says here. StandwithMinnesota.com

They don't "appear" to contradict the government's lies, @nytimes.com. We have eyes and we've all seen the videos. We watched him try and protect that lady. We watched them beat him. We watched them take his gun and run away. And then we watched them murder him. From multiple angles.
"Videos analyzed by The New York Times appear to contradict the accounts of federal officials, who said Mr. Pretti approached Border Patrol agents with a handgun and the intent to 'massacre' them. Video footage shows Mr. Pretti stepping between a woman and an agent who is pepper spraying her. ...

Same. That was murder. Full stop.
I'm normally pretty jaded looking at these videos, not a guy who shies away from witnessing violence either digitally or in real life. But I just saw an angle of the ICE murder of Alex Pretti that has me really shook.

My parents are retired teachers/educators and they just have the one house, sir.
Bessent on institutional investors: "I's a good idea to have them out of the [housing] market. We're going to give guidance to see what is a mom & pop. Maybe your parents for their retirement bought 10 or 12 homes. We don't want to push the mom & pops out, we just want to push everyone else out"

I second all this. Been a fan of @katz.theracket.news for a while. He's the real deal.
And it is a quick solid read. Important for those who worry about focus economies. JMK has been making this point for a while, and I have been agreeing with him all along: Everything is the crisis, everything is the distraction. Hope it helps.

Also JMK is top 3 independent journous right now ICYM.
I wrote about the murder of Renee Nicole Good and the deadly strategy, as Steve Bannon once called it, of flooding the zone with shit.

I had the pleasure of getting to know David when he was launching @p4ad.bsky.social. His vision provided an outlet for our family to get involved in advocacy for affordable insulin, and allowed us to meet many wonderful people on his team and network. He was a wonderful man and he will be missed.

I rode around in those station wagons. They were miserable and dangerous. No thanks.
I’m losing it. They know that Gen X is the only demo they have any footing with and so they are going all in on the nostalgia slop for them.
Sean Duffy on slashing fuel economy standards: "This rule will actually allow you to bring back the 1970s station wagon. Maybe a little wood paneling on the side. We can bring back choice to consumers."

NEW: Thunder GM Sam Presti is a huge fan of the legendary historian Robert Caro and frequently cites Caro’s “turn every page” mantra as a guiding light for the powerhouse Thunder. “I am truly touched, if you want to know the truth,” Caro tells ESPN. www.espn.com/nba/story/_/...
How a legendary historian is quietly fueling OKC's championship rise
As OKC GM Sam Presti formed a Thunder team built for a dynasty, he was inspired by a man who has been working on the same project for more than 50 years.

I'll be sure and chastise my daughter for getting diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 3 and my wife for getting breast cancer at 39.
Markwayne Mullin: "Reward people for being healthy. Think about this. Healthcare is the only industry that you're not rewarded for taking care of your responsibility. If you think about homeowners insurance, if you're within 500 feet of a fire hydrant, your insurance goes down."

I quit the former Twitter two years ago this week, and I am here to tell you that my online life got a lot better for having left it. In two years I've not been tempted to go back, and I haven't felt any penalty in either career or community for not being there. It's nice to be here and not there.

Never doubted them (I definitely doubted them).
Texas A&M leads South Carolina 31-30 after trailing 30-3 at halftime.

A 99-yard TD drive to take the lead in less than 20 game minutes.

Can confirm. We used to yell at him here in OKC not to shoot. Now we yell at him to shoot. But we still love him and always will.
Note to Wolves: You do not have to contest Russ's shots. He will miss them of his own accord.
