And if you're thinking "Wow look at these guys vote against their own interests," no they didn't.

Most US farmers' interests are just NOT what people think they are.

The loudest voices in ag are millionaires who're worried about taxes more than anything else.

They're just rich. It's not that deep

butterflies make up a monophyletic group, moths are just the leps that aren't butterflies. fairer to say *moths* don't exist (unless you include butterflies).

I FUCKEN FINISHED!!! As always, it took me 2 months, but I got there in the end.
The final illustration of a pink silkmoth with beige and brown upper wings and vibrant pink lower wings. Oh, and an incredibly fluffy body. A close up showing the detail of the furry wings.

an unfortunate caterpillar that became host to lots of braconid wasps which have emerged to pupate #bugsky #insects
a brown caterpillar with multiple projections and a light green couple of segments near its head. under the caterpillar is a neat stack of fluffy white cocoons, affixed to thorny vegetation another angle of the caterpillar and wasp-stack. the caterpillar appears spotted due to the numerous holes from which wasp larvae emerged.

My first pseudoscorpion observation was pure luck. Happen to see this wasp and took a shot. It was only later did I see what was hanging on the antenna.

A brown pseudoscopion hanging on to the antenna of a wasp. The wasp is yellow with black stripes and transparent wings.

an odd, wedge-shaped caterpillar with no visible legs or head. it's a slug caterpillar, Prolimacodes badia, or skiff moth (a reference to the boat-shaped caterpillars) two red-headed caterpillars chowing down on some leaves. they are black with white and yellow stripes, lots of thick projections, and a large red spot - they're called red-humped caterpillars. Oedemasia concinna Acronicta longa. a dark brown/black caterpillar with rows of tufts with large spines, most of which emerge from white spots. the caterpillar is arched and the row at the top of the arch is red-tinted instead of white.

Gorgeous lil Wolf Spider (Lycosinae, species uncertain) I found stuck in a stairwell and- with some effort -coaxed onto my hand and released outside.

I hope I find some more, Wolf Spiders are so beautiful and their faces are just precious. 🥰

Millipede fans rejoice: we published our revision of Apheloria! This is the most common cherry millipede genus, but its taxonomy has been riddled with nebulous subspecies names. No longer! We clarify species limits and provide a distribution map. mapress.com/zt/article/v... @apheloria.bsky.social
