yea sorry, but this paragraph is also shit, because it reduces “the ruling class” to “capitalists”, and omitting what chomsky himself said about the abuse of women. this is not only about capitalism, it is also about patriarchy. chomsky wasn’t just seduced by the ruling class, he is a man.
This is the definitive point by Chris Hedges, re: Noam Chomsky and Epstein. Chomsky's entire value as a public intellectual is to know what people like Epstein are up to and why. Him feigning ignorance is absurd, and if it were true it would undermine the rest of his career.
