Some more thoughts now that I'm home:

* Soundtrack is amazing
* The movie is indeed beautiful, I don't see GenAI being able to render at such high fidelity any time soon
* I loved the throwback to the original Tron
* Hope this does well so they make more!

Just watched it. Would recommend it, some of the reviews I’ve seen of it were definitely too harsh. But if you liked Tron Legacy then you will definitely enjoy it.

Yep, and not taking this seriously leads to another psychological effect: the illusory truth effect. Repeat the same misinformation multiple times, using a few different accounts and people will start to believe it.

Genuinely scary stuff, I'm certain governments are doing this at scale

Really I'd just love to see more serious discussion and acceptance that this is a real problem and will become even bigger the more effective LLMs become

Maybe I need to start writing more at length about it to stir up discussion around it. Can't blame bsky too much since they're focused on growth.

The only practical solution I know of is to do human verification and the only way to do this sucks because it requires ID scanning. I actually implemented this as an experiment @onlyhumanhub.com, but I can't blame people for not wanting to opt-in to it.

It's a fundamental problem with all social media that requires some novel solutions. I don't think it's just a case of "we just need better algorithms". So while Bluesky might care, they care in the same way that Reddit/Twitter/Facebook care i.e. not enough to do anything serious about it

Just spent a solid hour debugging why my serial output doesn't work on my ESP32-C6 board. Turns out Waveshare recommends using the ESP32C6 Dev Module board definition, but it doesn't enable USB CDC. By chance I tried another C6 board definition (cezario) and it works fine.
