What makes Blackstar such a perfect send off to David Bowie’s life and career is how it was a return to form to the classics that made him iconic in the first place. The themes of life and death within his songs are not only truly poetic, but the lyrics he wrote himself is incredibly personal.

This flu is just horrible, my lungs have taken a right battering, even though I have more pillows than the elephant man, still coughing like I'm on a thousand fags a day, the sleep deprivation is just the worst, awful!
