#WIPWednesday for “living on your breath.” Not full on filth but spicy enough that I’ve put a label on it.

Stede surrenders as Ed sweeps him away…

Ed pauses as he hovers over Stede, their faces only inches away from one another. “Yes?” Ed asks in a rough voice as his eyes are boring into Stede’s. “Yes,” Stede whispers. “Whatever you want.” Ed leans down to capture Stede’s lips once more. His strong body pins Stede into place. Stede could perhaps shift him if he wanted to—perish the thought—but something about being unable to move makes the flames in his belly lick up higher. Stede is Ed’s to do with as he sees fit. Their kissing is only interrupted when Ed growls, “Clothes off,” and rolls off of Stede onto the other side of the bed. After a few moments of struggle with garments and shoes, and with Stede narrowly avoiding kneeing Ed in the groin and putting an end to the whole interlude, Stede finds himself blissfully trapped under Ed once more. This time, it’s even better with the feeling of Ed's skin against his. Yes, Stede thinks as he looks up into Ed’s eyes. Nothing between us. Ed leans down once more, but this time, his lips meet the skin of Stede’s neck. Squirming under Ed’s weight, Stede whines as Ed’s tongue and teeth worry gently against the sensitive skin there. “Gonna leave marks,” Ed rumbles against Stede’s throat as he kisses along it. “Please!” Stede’s breath quickens as he remembers how much Ed enjoyed his own efforts in that direction. Ed kisses a trail from his neck down to Stede’s nipples, sucking hard enough at the moment to leave marks, making Stede cry out harshly each time. Each touch of Ed’s lips, tongue, or teeth makes Stede startle for a moment as if he’s been electrocuted—and each time, he melts directly afterwards. Stede surrenders himself. He is the ocean, and Ed is the tide moving him.

My first #WIPWednesday I am much too excited about this!!

A peek at Chapter 2 of Tupping the Velvet, set ten years after we last saw Ed
Ed didn't mind the way the work kept him too busy to familiarize himself with the interior of his own mind, own heart - no point in facing how he actually felt when nothing was ever going to change. Hours became days became weeks became months, every fraction of every second filled with the business. He almost enjoyed the nights he spent in a hotel suite one city over during his hedonistic flow periods, blankly pouring carefully constructed high balls down his throat at the hotel bar without tasting a drop, finding someone to suck the bourbon off his tongue on the way up to his room, to let take him apart, to see how far they would take it, how far they'd go if he gave them a long enough length of rope. And then, like clockwork, a ride back to the farm, filled with calls to vendors, to wholesalers, to suppliers, to money managers, to Izzy, reviewing the plan that never changed, the well-oiled machine of a corporate woolery chugging smoothly and ceaselessly along. When had that come about? When was the last time Ed had given more than a passing glance at one of the lambs, let alone any of his sheep? When was the last time Ed thought of what had once been his mother's small family farm in any terms other than its potential profit? It took a disaster to remind him.

I am clearly cursed and seem to have fucked up the heat & hot water system in this apartment because it’s unfamiliar to me. The landlord is coming at some point but we’re on a clock before we go to hockey. We can’t even heat up yesterday’s pizza for dinner (restaurants close till 7pm here)
