I got through the first game in 12 runs and this happening was still the exception. It got so much worse in 2. Good thing the characters all have voices so sexy that I don't really mind.

The guardsmen of Rome all deserve to die because they are infiltrated by the Templars. But if you kill the leader of the Templars you're no better than him.
And in the next game they make fun of Ezio for it, like it wasn't the same writers who fucked up in the first place.
