take this with a big grain of salt because I could be misremembering but I remember reading a Pokémon translator saying he translated a line as "soft, loamy soil" to teach kids a new word and he was right. I did learn what loamy meant from Pokémon in fact

As an adult gamedev, none of "Horses" sounds problematic except that the men are naked. That puts the Scrutiny Meter up to eleven, and if you then have a scene with a naked woman and a clothed daughter, Valve will reach for the Ban Hammer
Really wild situation here: a celebrated and well-regarded indie dev and publisher is facing shutdown because Valve banned their game from Steam and won't talk to them about it, at all.

At this point the word slop has genuinely ruined people's ability to just accept that something is indeed good. Like at a certain point you kind of just have to accept that something is going to fall into a trope and things are capable being good even if they have a trope

if I may add: I put all my bullshit in brackets. whenever I'm stumped, or need to fact-check something, or the syntax is fucked, or I need to rewrite a passage. anything funky goes in brackets so when I'm ready to revise, I can easily search the doc for them and find all the bullshit.
