You probably keep seeing the thing about how there's a penalty for RP facing same batter 3x in a postseason series, and over time that's true, but it's really noisy. Didn't happen last year. Isn't happening so far this year.

Really don't think it's anything other than we just have the data to see it and track it over and over. Umpiring in MLB has largely improved over the past 20 years. Can't speak for football, but in 2 minutes I can find a 30 minutes bad NFL referring video. Couldn't do that 30 years ago
