There's few bigger tells of nerds' absolute film illiteracy than them saying "You could have taken [absurd amount of runtime] out of this movie and it'd be better off".

Film editing is not just making movies shorter or longer.

It's obvious that anybody who says something like the above quoted post never actually watched Snyder's cut, at least not all the way through. Whedon got away with bringing the runtime down only because he did away with core story threads and reshot a vast majority of what was left
