Listening to this course on Biblical Archaeology and the professor mentioned how we wouldn't have the words of Jesus if not for other people writing them down like how we wouldn't know anything Socrates said if not for Plato and like hello, what about Xenophon's Socratic dialogues?!

The moment on Heated Rivalry last night when the soundtrack switched from t.A.T.u.'s "All The Things She Said" to a dark British cover of t.A.T.u.'s "All The Things She Said." Screaming.

Firing off a text to a friend before 8am like "okay that's enough bitching for today!!" and then immediately walking that back with an "is it?? no I can bitch more" happy Monday, stay tuned

Minimizing conflict in my life is a key tenet of maintaining good mental health for me but it does inject drama into small decisions like choosing what color socks I'm going to wear in the morning. IS this a day for gentle seafoam green? Or more of a bright purple moment? I CAN'T FUCK THIS UP

Obsessed with this Achilles and Patrocles pic Wikipedia uses as the main image for the Trojan War portal. Patrocles just FULLY dick and balls out. Flaunting bush. Achilles wrapping his wounded arm for him but he is NOT keeping his eyes on the bandaging situation. Insane choice

good morning, I have noticed that some of the critical responses to the Crave show Heated Rivalry have been, let's say, incomplete

sex scenes are craft! goddammit!
Anatomy of a Sex Scene: Heated Rivalry Edition - Reading the End
Heated Rivalry, AKA the gay hockey show, has been getting a lot of buzz for its explicit(-ish) sex scenes, and a lot of that buzz has been coming from viewers and critics whose experience with the rom...

People keep asking if the gay hockey show is good or bad but it is simply too horny for either of those words to apply

Serious shoutout to the hyperfixations that have really lasted me these last few years: making fragrances/body products/wickless candles, mushrooms (the non-magic kind, lol), and now salsa machas. These are ideal bc I can buy ingredients (YAY!!) but everything I make is consumable so I consume it

Anyway I got interested in shrooms after reading some compelling research on the benefits of microdosing so I've been taking these the last couple days and let me tell you: WOW. I'm officially entering my Shrooms Guy era, my brain LOVES these

Good morning I'd like to share some skincare tips bc I just looked in the mirror and said, "Wow, my skin looks amazing!" So what I did was I got rid of all the fancy expensive stuff I'd tried over the years from my Skincare Phase and just started only washing my face once a day at night.

Really into the scene in Book 19 of The Iliad where the Greeks are getting all fired up about going into battle alongside Achilles but Odysseus is like "Whoa whoa whoa wait pause. I am SO fucking hungry oh my god, are you guys hungry? Is anyone else like, dying to have dinner right now 🍽"

Been interested in trying shrooms again so I joined a mushroom church here in San Francisco in order to access the sacred sacrament and wrangled my bio dad into coming with me so anyway we did shrooms together tonight and had a great trip. Happy Shroomsgiving everybody! 🍄

I love when they talk about outfits in The Iliad. "I'm an Achaean (in case you couldn't tell) and I wear mostly bronze armor. For example today I was wearing a golden full-length lion skin and fine sandals on my well-oiled feet. A lot of Trojans stared at me. I put up my middle finger at them."

Been a minute since I've read The Iliad so I'm listening to the Emily Wilson translation on audiobook (which is great!!) and man I forgot this story starts with two grown men throwing enormous tantrums because they're getting their rape slaves taken away. Ah, the heroes of old

I agree!! Classics fandom especially has thousands of years of wank and fanfic and discourse and big opinions which makes it soooo fun. What is academic study like this if not an excuse to eventually lead entire classes on your hyperfixation?! The dream!!!!
I think everyone should refer to their area of academic study as "my fandom".

"Oh, you're a neuroscientist, huh? Nice fandom, that's a good one."

The way you can highlight words and get their definitions on the computer and on Kindles is so wonderful. Every day I come across words brand new to me and then I get to find out what they mean right then and it is the most marvelous thing
