I'm perfectly aware this is by far not the worst thing he's done, but Trump's constant presence - day after day after day - in the lives and headspaces of hundreds of millions of people (billions?), in the US and outside, is so taxing. Every morning, we wake up and have to think about this asshole.

If someone could send the Epstein files to the Greenlandic government to release if Trump invades that would sort the whole thing out

These so-called "patriotic" 🇬🇧newspapers who brought you Brexit were never really patriotic at all.

They are driven by a disdain for Britain's European neighbours, and a fawning obsession with America.

They do not really want 🇬🇧 to be sovereign. They're content being a 🇺🇸vassal.

"Why aren't the BBC reporting XXXXX when social media has been showing it for 2 hours?" Maybe because they are checking and verifying it like a proper, professional news outlet rather than just throwing any old half-understood, possibly fake shite out into the world.

Superheroes promote fascist ideals and have primed the American public to follow a superman who claims he can fix everything. Discuss.

'British food is bad' has been untrue for like a generation and a half at this point but really sticks around in the U.S. U.S. supermarkets are inferior to their U.K. counterparts!

Zelensky on Venezuela:

“About Venezuela? How should I respond to that? Well, what can I say? If… If it is possible to act with dictators like this, it means the United States knows what to do next. Thank you”

Omg I love it.

In America, they speak the common language of gun violence
This is a totally made-up quote that I agree with 100%

So the right are now saying left wing rhetoric killed Charlie Kirk. So free speech should have limits? I thought you were busy defending all those people who called for hotels to be burnt down last summer? 🤔

Rayner made a mistake yes, but it also perfectly shows that the working class can't get away with anything while the rich keep avoiding tax like the plague. She avoided tax through negligence and pays a high price. Billionaires avoid tax intentionally and carry on as normal.

In 1807, Napoleon Bonaparte and Tsar Alexander met on a raft on a river in modern day Lithuania. It was a meeting between two absolute rulers of military superpowers that had just fought a brutal war... that the French had convincingly won.

They did it. They pulled it off. The Naked Gun is easily one of my favorite films of the year. It just machine-guns jokes in a way that I missed so much. It is stupid. It is nonsense. It broke me and remade me. I'm a better man for having witnessed this movie. Go see it in a theater with a crowd.

Today in 1215 King John reluctantly affixed his seal to Magna Carta, a document which placed restrictions on his royal power.

It has come to represent the centuries long battle to restrain capricious, insane, despotic leaders.

That's a work in progress

Telling Denmark it’s not doing enough for Greenland—when both have universal healthcare and your country can’t even guarantee insulin or an ambulance without bankruptcy—is peak American delusion.

America needs to stop pretending it’s the good guy
And to make the obvious point, it has the "Quantum of Solace" problem where the bad guy is considerably less bad than what's happening in the real world. The comic book movie got lapped in ridiculousness by reality. Again, this is almost too obvious to even say.
