Like for real @bsky.app a verified/news/promotional feed for not only press but like press RELEASES for people who're here as professionals would be a GODSEND - it sucks so much to refresh the YouTube home screen every few hours in case new movie trailers drop 🤣
I mean, I don't really care about my posts in and of themselves; but in practical terms the ONLY brief moment where Twitter was "useful" was when it let The Real News, the 'media/entertainment I choose to care about' news and "what my pals are saying about BOTH" be just ONE scrolling feed...

I'm not saying there's a Plan involved, but I would assume that Cain thinks he's engaged in propaganda like actors joining the military during WW2.

Trying to "step up" and what have you.

Just pro nazi this time.

Here's the fundamental thing:

I'm glad "SOUTH PARK" made Trump mad, but all they ultimately said was "Yea the 'woke stuff' went too far but he should leave TV shows alone and lol he has a tiny dick." Funny, but low impact.

Colbert hit him on ACTUAL substance, nightly.

Billionaires are probably more a product of public policy than the market.
I know it’s trendy to hate billionaires, but many didn’t get rich by accident.

Jeff Bezos made goods cheaper & quickly accessible. Bill Gates put computers in homes. Sergey Brin gave the world a search engine that works. I could go on.

So yes…they should exist.
NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani said Sunday that billionaires shouldn’t exist

This is probably one of the best insights into the effect of tariffs on a small business. Note, the focus on being able to plan.

Atreyu Running Company is a boutique running shoe brand that might not exist if there isn’t tariff relief.

"The International Statistical Institute (ISI) is concerned about government interference in the compilation and availability of Federal Statistics in the United States of America..."

There's a long preamble, but the main specific is that removing government activity from GDP is a bad idea 1/2

What some people aren’t factoring into their analysis is the reality that companies were buying tons of inventory to beat the tariffs.
That’s cash taken from being able to invest or hire. In fact the probably cut costs and jobs as a result.

Been thinking not just about moving away from Amazon, but also Spotify, Netflix...all of these big media places that have turned our attention and $$ against us in ways big and small.

I don't have solutions, only scattered ideas.

There are 33m companies in the USA. Only 21k employe 500 or more. And they only make up 23% of workers.

Trump and Elon are ignoring the more than 32m entrepreneurs that can't afford to build a new factory or pay tariffs or absorb cancelled contracts.

They're called public records for a reason. Starting today, WIRED will *stop paywalling* articles that are primarily based on public records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, becoming the first publication to partner with @freedom.press to offer this for our new coverage.
Wired is dropping paywalls for FOIA-based reporting. Others should follow

Everyone needs to watch @acollierastro.bsky.social’s videos on AI. Especially those who work in the tech field and those who think this is appropriate for AI. This doesn’t seem like an appropriate use of AI as a tool.
OPM has stated that a response is not necessary. However, if a response were required, here is their plan: Musk-directed emails to government employees, requesting details on their work over the past week, are expected to be fed into an AI system to assess job necessity.

I’d argue that a grant from the feds is guaranteed based on the terms of the grant. Were that grant cancelled prior to the term ending, I doubt I’d trust a guarantee on a 30% annual reduction.
Anyone who is a grant recipient who is not getting paid, a question.
Would you take a 30 PCT annual reduction, if it meant you were guaranteed to be paid ?

Watched and enjoyed Captain America. I would have loved it had they not stuck Isaiah Bradley in a cell for 3/4 of the film. Big missed opportunity. Cap, the falcon, and Isaiah together in an espionage thriller! Those three personalities working together could have been gold.

Prices are motivated to move—they’re nudged, pulled, and pushed, like a bobber on a lake, rising and dipping with the currents. There’s a reason behind every shift. Prices aren’t random.
VITALI: Can you guarantee that prices won't rise because of these tariffs?

Getting off Amazon was hard. They make it wildly easy to purchase and receive goods. Since ditching Amazon, purchasing is harder, however, this has led to savings. Because of the friction between idea and purchase, I reduced impulse buys. Quitting Amazon has been good to my Credit Union account.

@bobchipman.bsky.social makes a great point about negative media. It’s worn me down at times, leading me to skip movies I might have liked. The bad-faith outrage over The Marvels swayed me to skip it.

I’ve been cutting negative media from my YT feed and it’s been nice.

Yep. This is the same with Peacock. I canceled both.

I am not paying a premium just to watch commercials anyways.
