As someone who tried to tell myself all my life that most people doing evil think they're doing the right thing, within their own framework and context, seeing a bunch of people with power just doing evil for the hell of it and basically straight up saying it out loud has been wild.

The ongoing theme of the admin is that it fundamentally agrees with the left's worldview of how US gov works. Both of them think that the US believing in Human Rights and Democracy was just propaganda. They live in the exact same world, the admin just has gleefully taken up the role of the villains.

... the buggy MIME decoder was expecting every "=" to be followed by two bytes... which is usually true... and usually either "\r\n" or "[0-9A-F]{2}"... but in this case the "\r" is missing, so the decoder eats the next character, which is the actual text of the email message.

I've been doing some more research, and I'm now beginning to suspect that the raw mailspool files were transferred via FTP in ASCII mode rather than in BINARY mode, so the carrage return characters at the end of each line were stripped out leaving only the line feed characters... and then...
