I will say this was one of my favorite aspects of Cat’s Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut, but there it was done intentionally and in service of the story. Here it seems like more of a market fulfillment thing…
Rewatching Rise of Skywalker with my partner (who has never seen it before) and I feel very validated that she also thinks it’s quite bad

🌬️ Can wind energy projects power local job growth?
📈 A new #JAERE study finds that when a new wind farm opens in Brazil, local employment rises by 7–15%, with gains concentrated in construction, transportation, and electricity-related jobs.

I hate that universities are held in opposition to the trades. My dad’s work as an electrician made me appreciate expertise and made me want the highest form of knowledge in my field. love to pay an expert for their knowledge— seems nice that our economy could sustain many kinds of expertise.

If today you are an American celebrating "independence day", I strongly recommend you read aloud or listen to the original declaration of independence. Meditate on the words or discuss them with family and friends. dissect the meaning in the document learn more about the occasion than sky boom boom.

For years, I hoped NPR, NYTimes, or the ghost of Gimlet would make a video game podcast. A weekly, hour-long audio magazine with essays, interviews, tight editing, and a cheeky sense of humor.

Nobody made the show I wanted to hear.
So, I made it myself.

Here's the first episode of Post Games.

every night before bed i pour a family sized bag of jellybeans onto the floor as an offering to the gods, and every morning they reward me with a bountiful breakfast of floor jellybeans
Look I’m not complaining…
But my entire #bluesky #feed is birds. Like every post is #photography of #birds. Am I being targeted by the bird lobby? Am I, unknowingly, a loaf of stale bread?
My headcannon is that this is an enemies to lovers trope
It has been a dreary and rainy week in Philly, which means muddy boots for me and rich, watered soil for the city plants. As I listen to Mort Garson’s Plantasia, I feel thankful for the green leaves of the local trees, fat with droplets from the sky🍃💧
I’m viciously aware of the irony of this post, but I cannot shake the self conscious feeling that everything I put on social media has to be produced and curated, every thought whittled down to its pith. The feeling paralyzed me and keeps me from sharing my thoughts. I aim to change this in myself.
Willow appreciation post. As I’m getting ready to start #gradschool in the Fall, I can’t fully express how thankful I am for this little #dog. She got me through some tough nights living alone in Philly, and I am grateful that she will be with me for moral support as I start this new chapter
I'm building a new PC, and unplugging and consigning my old one to the TV entertainment center felt like that scene from Old Yeller
