At the start of the year, I mused aloud in the RPGSEA discord that I "kind of [wanted] to arrange a game day... with other GMs".
Well, turns out those "some other GMs" were interested, and last Saturday marked the fourth such game day hosted!

Played my first game of Fabula Ultima as player yesterday. My observations are much the same as with my first run with it as GM: it starts a bit slow but for this reason (among others), it's pretty easy to teach the game's elements. Lends itself well to arcs that are both narrative and ludic intros.

Something bouncing around in my head lately is an RPG with dungeon builds for the DM.
To put it very roughly: what if a DM also had specific at-wills, encounters and dailies (yeah we're talking D&D 4e) to throw at the PCs which were also transparent to the players?

Ok, @lumpley.bsky.social & I have been very up-front over the years on our sales data & etc, so here's a thing, & thanks Will, for bringing it up. Starting a career in #ttrpgs means making games. it means writing in a goggle doc or notebook, trying mechanics with a friend, finding 3 folks to play.
I don't really see any false vision of success — virtually anybody who talks about it is very up front, and people who ask about "starting a career in games" get told very plainly that the only way to have money while working in RPGs is to start with money.

Yesterday's Fabula Ultima game fell through, so we did a Stewpot one-shot! I'm still pretty awkward around more freeform RP, but the tavern provides a nice, solid anchor for it. (True to my forever-GM instincts, I am perhaps most intrigued by the chance to RP recurring NPCs ehehe~)
