Lin Nakatomi is the CEO of Nakatomi Weather control, a pivotal part of Santa Agua's corporate ecosystem, making sure the population remains pliant and thirsty for Pepto-Kotch's overpriced bottled water, but Nakatomi has her own ambitions and frequently pits her larger rivals against each other.

Theo Degrassi is the CEO of Pepto-Kotch, the most powerful corporation in the UCA and centre of the monopoly on drinking water. In spite of his wealth, power and influence, Degrassi is petulant, short-sighted and impatient, constantly jumping from one new project to another.

Something to keep in mind also, wrt the Uks current attitude towards protest.
Very good piece by @mashagessen.bsky.social, the author of Surviving Autocracy, who left Russia in 2013 as the authoritarian hammer really started coming down, and moved to the United States. Gift link: www.nytimes.com/2026/01/18/o...

People don't seem to understand that the Bechdal test is at least partially a joke about how desperately low the standards are for women having agency in a film that even with that bare minimum most movies don't even bother to try to have 2 women talk about something other than a man. I

Rewatched Spider-man No Way Home for the first time since seeing it at the cinema and it's a mixed experience because it's still really the best execution of its own idea but it opened the door to bringing back actors from previous iterations and damed us with Deadpool 3 and Flash and whatnot

Remember when video game magazines would print these nonchalantly and not explain what the fuck it was
