The New Order should have been a one off, and they should have left it with BJ dying at the end. The New Colossus was honestly pretty crap, pulled all of its punches, ruins what felt like a natural conclusion to the story, and I dont get why people had such glowing praise for it.

SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level. SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an Al and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this. I used to dream that it'd be wonderful to make a comic or novel and see it adapted into a movie or show.

Now I have to cope with the very real possibility that we might finish making a whole movie or show, only to have it scrapped for a tax write-off and never be seen by anyone.

This is why, more and more, I just can't muster up any desire to be a success in the mainstream art world. They want AI to make "content" for people who don't care.

I care about my art, and I want to give it to an audience who cares.

Its always funny when you assume that the general sphere of 'left twitter' which has now migrated to 'left bluesky' would be mostly people who are on the same page more or less, but instead is made up of a collection of people with the most insane unnecessary beefs with one another.

It has been a while, but I finally have a new story to share with you all. A short fable called "Hunting Season."
