i think this more than anything is what miller wants. vast detention camps with all of the suffering and death that means.
ICE has now spent over half a BILLION dollars just on purchasing warehouses around the country to convert into detention camps.

If these mega-camps are utilized to the full capacity ICE intends, they'll be the largest prisons in the country, with little real oversight. www.ajc.com/politics/202...

If Trump grants a proven child sex trafficker clemency it’s not just a confession of his complicity, it’s an acknowledgment that she has enough compromising information to control our President. That’s terrifying and disgusting.

HOW?!? HOW DOES TRUMP GIVING A CONVICTED CHILD SEX TRAFFICKER CLEMENCY CLEAR TRUMP’S NAME? Hint: it doesn’t. Two completely untrustworthy people doesn’t make for a truthful outcome and doesn’t erase history. It’s corrupt fucking bullshit.

Everyone in Puerto Rico (an American territory with American citizens) and the entire Spanish-speaking world understood what Bad Bunny was saying, and even if the words were unfamiliar, you could still get the gist of it buy watching the visuals. Trump and conservatives are absurdly fragile.

President Babyman Pieceofshit has crapped his pants again. Bad Bunny’s show absolutely represented success, creativity, and excellence, but he can’t see that because in his mind, those things are exclusively represented by a case of moldy Cheetos stuffed into a Brioni suit.

That was a hell of a halftime show. I admit I don’t know Bad Bunny’s music all that well, but it felt like we got to see an artist working at the height of his powers there. Great, meaningful stuff.

For the record: the proper pronunciation of the streaming service Peacock is P’Cock. A lot of people at NBC confused by this.

What a great analogy. I’m going to use this next time some asks me why I’m against generative AI (y’know, besides the theft and environmental degradation).
people who say that all creative endeavor can be replaced with AI probably need to reckon with the fact that all televised sports events with human athletes could easily be replicated by high-definition computer-animated simulations….and yet we don’t do this and no one seems to want to.

Fuck you, Don. You’re a loser for being so thin-skinned you can’t handle any criticism. Petulant little clown.
The president is now attacking a US Olympian as a “Loser” and misrepresenting his words for his mild unspecified criticisms about things going on in the US right now.

I don’t get how you can run a news organization that has some responsibility to cover nearby events and not have a single photographer on staff.

What will the Post do if, say, there’s a terror attack at the Mall? Pull screengrabs from social media? And if so, who verifies those?
Jeff Bezos laid off all of the photographers at The Washington Post. Any good reporter will tell you that working closely with a photographer always, always, always makes the story better. When I was at the Post, I got to work with Carol Guzy and Dana Smith, and I’ll always be grateful.

Absolutely right. Democrats backed a national ban on gerrymandering while Republicans pushed their advantage in key states. This evens things up but also draws us closer to real reform.
on the balance i think partisan gerrymandering is bad but the only way it ends is if democrats weaponize it against republicans everywhere they can. wiping out republican lawmakers in blue states might bring the GOP to the table to end the practice.
