LLMs do not understand, will not understand, and cannot ever understand information. It's a glorified search engine combined with auto-compete, and you should treat it as such. No matter how much LLM companies try to tell you their machines can think or reason, they cannot and will not.

I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.

When I realized I could put 2.5m in bank and live on the 100k of interest it generated every year - and literally do no other capitalist labor for the rest of my life - it made the obscene wealth hoarding seem even more like a mental illness. None of this is necessary or useful in any tangible way
It's ludicrous to me how a few hundred thousand dollars is all I need to no longer play this debt game that is a 9 to 5 in America and there’s a billionaire out there that just made that amount of money in the time it took me to type this out.

Human brains feed off of negativity. Negative thoughts are easily digested and play in a loop in your mind all of the time. The reality, however, is that there is also A LOT OF GOOD happening every single minute. You have to do more work to pay attention to the good but it's worth it.
