β€œI don't think men understand where women are right now. After Gisele Pelicot, then the Italian case, now this.
It's become undeniable: men view us as orifices or irrelevant. We're in a profoundly dark place, whereas they are carrying on as if it's just another news story."

β€œFour of my children just evaporated,” Badran said, holding back tears. β€œI looked for them a million times. Not a piece was left. Where did they go?”

There are no words to adequately describe the evil here.

US-made thermal weapons burning at 3,500C caused 2,842 people to "evaporate" in Gaza, Al Jazeera investigation finds.

Some people let their geographical locations be dictated by jobs or careers, others by family, others by love, others by stasis. Me, I'm hopelessly addicted to living a car-free, active-transportation-based life away from the city and light pollution.

i hold no love for Mark Carney but even I've gotta have sympathy for the dude when I imagine his aide being like "sir, the president thinks you own the whole bridge and you're being mean about it" and him having to put down his copy of The Economist to make the dumbest phone call of all time

I enjoy the part where China bans hockey in Canada and steals the Stanley Cup.
I can just see the headlines now:

China Wins Stanley Cup in Maple Leafs Upset

…and then that's it. no more hockey, ever again. close the NHL, sell your sticks, we’re staying home.
I'm so enthralled with the whole Trump-Carney-Windsor-Detroit Gordie Howe bridge scandal. A billionaire who owns the only other bridge gets pissy and suddenly the fucking President is ranting on Truth Social about how Canada is evil. It's so funny. And so, so dumb. And corrupt. Can't forget corrupt.

Tumbler Ridge is a small planned resource community, a winding 90 minute drive from the nearest city of at least 10,000 people.

A massive number of people are going to descend there tomorrow.

May those that arrive have respect and grace for the unimaginable grief.

any excuse to share this insane survival story from the north, which includes a trek across the NWT to Alaska, a guest star appearance from the great Wop May, the country’s first aerial manhunt, and the first manhunt to be broadcast nationwide on radio.

honestly, bring counting blocks to the next meeting.
perhaps those large, wooden building blocks, too, for good measure.
at this point, it’s entirely appropriate to break out the counting blocks for the next meeting, @mark-carney.bsky.social.
I don’t think he can grasp the sequence of events, the coercive tariff alignment and why it was in place, or the agreements he's made… time to dumb it down.

The Canadian government agreed to pay for and operate the Gordie Howe international bridge in 2012 β€”Β Michigan Republicans opposed funding it.

At last report, construction costs had reached $6.4 billion.

But the bridge is jointly owned by Canada and Michigan.

pardon, i worded it wrong (still waiting for an edit button)

not that q’s about shootings β€œdont matter”, but the premise of your question does not exist, which makes the question, itself, redundant.
February 11, 2026 at 2:29 AM
I was wondering where you see this increase in shootings, as your question implies, but it seems there isn't an increase at all.
so, like, the question doesn't matter bc shootings haven't increased.

I can't believe they didn't have dry runs with the athletes to get their opinion on it beforehand.

but, on the other hand, I recognize the fine line between novelty and caring for the people who make the event special. πŸ™„

Secretary Lutnick made a big show of telling us about how he cut off contact with Jeffrey Epstein in 2005. That was a lie.

Today he confirmed that in 2012 β€” after Epstein was convicted β€” Lutnick visited Epstein's island.

What else is he not telling us? We need answers.
